Marvel noob fanfic #4: He is so cute.
"For the last time. Can we get out of here now that we've stopped bickering?" Hank said.
"OH I don't think we're done "bickering"," Scott said.
"The LAST time?" Hope said simultaneously.
Peter was ignoring them all entirely.
"Why do we keep talking over each other?" Scott asked.
"Wait." Hope and her father suddenly froze. "Did you hear that?" Hope asked melodramatically. Hank nodded.
Peter took off his headphones. "Well, this is interesting and all, but I really want to figure out what's going on. Hah? Anyone?"
Scott suddenly seemed to disappear. Like, *poof*!
Hope had stopped listening intently and noticed he was gone. "Scott.... Quill, where'd he go."
"I dunno! Why you asking me?"
Hope sighed and shrank down so she could fly. "Scott...."
She finally spotted him. He was in the same spot as before, just shrunk.
"Darn-- SUIT-- Rrrrgh, I'm gonna kill Hank for his "works in progress"--" He was smashing his buttons angrily. Hope smirked a little under her mask.
Scott looked up at her. "Stop laughing at me."
"You can tell."
"Yeah, it looks like you're shaking a little mid-air, and your head is tilted at me mockingly."
"Good to know."
"....You're still doing it."
She snorted. "Oh come on."
She flew down over to him and started to fiddle with his regulator.
"Wow, you fried this thing."
"I fried it? Ohhh, sure. It's Hank's suit-repairing job that messed it up."
"Well, doesn't that mean you still broke it in the first place, if he had to "fix" it?"
Scott opened his mouth and shut it again, then waved an accusing finger at her.
They messed around with it for a few more minutes, and then Hope stopped suddenly and turned away.
"You just turned around, so I would think you were sad you couldn't fix it, but I'm getting a very villainous vibe from you," Scott said carefully.
She turned around again, grinning rather creepily under her helmet. "You want a riiiide?"
Scott's eyes widened, and he started backing away from her. "No, no, NO, no "rides", those are terrifying."
Hope rolled her eyes. "How can you do soooo many things from heights, and not even let me carry you? It's most definitely not the scariest mission you ever done, or anything. I'm not even that tall."
"You are VERY TALL when a 6 foot man is suddenly an inch!"
Hank towered over them. "Can you hurry this up?" he boomed. "I can't handle this crackpot anymore." He gestured at Peter, who was hilariously singing off-tune with his music.
"I'm doing it." Hope said.
"Noooo!" Scott started running.
"You know that's not going to work, Scott!" Hope shouted as she grew back up to normal.
"NOOOOO! I REFU--"
She plucked him up. "Just deal with it, until we figure out that regulator."
"What's wrong with the regulator?" Hank asked.
"We'll figure it out later."
"I could fix it," Hank said.
"How would you even touch it? It's like half a centimeter wide; you would need some serious pliers and neurosurgeon training."
"Also, I'm NOT letting you touch this suit while I'm wearing it. It's bad enough when it doesn't work in the field, I do not want to be shrunk to oblivion!" Scott ranted.
Hope snickered.
"What?" Scott looked up at her.
"You are very cute when you're mad at that size."
"OH NO, NOT THIS, I WILL LITERALLY LEAP OFF YOU YOU AND DIE BECAUSE THAT WOULD BE BETTER THAN THIS AGAIN."
Hope still giggled at him but cupped her hands around him. "Don't kill yourself."
"RRRRRAGHHHH I WILL PUNCH YOU. HARD!"
"Don't even try."
He finally stopped and pouted.
"We'll finish this later. Let me out."
She opened her palm and looked at the others. "Okay, let's figure this out."
